Roads?  Where we’re going, we don’t need… roads.

So I have finally settled down with my paid domain, beautiful homepage formatting, Google AdSense implementations, and Google Analytics tracking… now what?  When it comes to getting things done, I’m the type that tends to go through my check list over and over again until I have practically memorized it – literally speaking.  Having more than 10 different dashboards to look at hasn’t made my job much easier.  There are so many metrics you can track nowadays, that I find myself gazing at them every 1-2 hours.  But gazing isn’t going to take me anywhere.  Let’s get back to my big dream – and I’m writing this because I really mean it – the dream of publishing a book one day.  Since I had been chased with ROI metrics for the past 10 years or so, it’s become a habit of mine to value metrics, but if you have too many KPIs it probably means that you’re not creating much new valueIn the world of new values, metrics are non-existent.  Thus, I have decided that I will only open up my dashboards only 2 times a day (in the morning and evening, to check that there are no major defects).  It’s the big dream that really matters, not the metrics.
