All you need is love.  But a little chocolate now and then doesn’t hurt.

For the past week, the supermarket has been playing an original valentine’s day song featuring a teenage girl singing about wondering if she should give chocolates to a boy she likes.  By instinct, I rolled my eyes because I’ve been stranded quite far away from that kind of teenage love for years.  This is not at all negative (really!).  The kind of love I need and have is just not teenage love anymore.  Hopefully it means that I’ve matured.  Because of this, I thought I might skip any valentine’s day gifts this year, on the first thought.  After all, I just came back from my 5th year honeymoon last month.  Then again, if you don’t show the love, it’s the same as not loving at all.  So while pondering about valentine’s day gifts, please let me give a shout out to all the Japanese men (yes, you!).  Don’t wait for your love to come to you!  Go find it, capture it, and never let it go.
